Press Release: (KIDROBOT X KEITH HARING)RED Collection!

KIDROBOT, KEITH HARING AND (RED)TM PARTNER TO FIGHT FOR AN AIDS FREE GENERATION

New York, New York – November 14, 2013:  Kidrobot is joining (RED) and the fight against AIDS with the launch of a Special Edition Kidrobot (PRODUCT)RED Collection. Partnering to raise money and awareness for the fight, 5% of the retail price from every Kidrobot x (RED) purchase will go to the Global Fund to fight AIDS.

As the premier creator of limited edition art toys, signature apparel and pop culture accessories, Kidrobot has teamed up with (RED) and the Keith Haring Studio to enable the wonders of art to help fight AIDS in Africa. The partnership between Kidrobot and the Keith Haring Studio was facilitated by the international art and design-consulting group Artestar. Bringing together Kidrobot’s iconic ‘Bot’ sculpture with Keith Haring’s legendary artwork, the collection includes five amazing and surprising conceptual art pieces. To celebrate this anticipated release, Kidrobot will host a party on the eve of World AIDS Day 2013, taking place on November 30th from 7-9pm at their store in SoHo, New York.

“Keith Haring’s art has done so much to raise awareness around the AIDS pandemic, so it’s exciting to see his legacy live on in this new, cool and collectable Kidrobot x (RED) range. Every time someone buys one of these fabulous (KIDROBOT X KEITH HARING)RED products, Kidrobot will donate money to the Global Fund to help finance the ongoing fight to end this needless disease,” said Deborah Dugan, CEO, (RED).

The new (KIDROBOT)RED collection is the latest addition to the broad range of products from (RED)’s partners. The collection includes three sizes of the Kidrobot Mascot Bot (1.5” keychain, 3” vinyl figure, 7” vinyl figure), as well as a specially designed adjustable snap-back cap and a knit beanie. These newest staple items will be available at Kidrobot.com, Kidrobot stores and selected specialty retail stores around the world on November 30, 2013.

About Keith Haring

Throughout his career, Haring devoted much of his time to public works, which often carried social messages. He produced more than 50 public artworks between 1982 and 1989, in dozens of cities around the world, many of which were created for charities, hospitals, children’s day care centers and orphanages. Haring was diagnosed with AIDS in 1988. In 1989, he established the Keith Haring Foundation, its mandate being to provide funding and imagery to AIDS organizations and children’s programs, and to expand the audience for Haring’s work through exhibitions, publications and the licensing of his images. During a brief but intense career that spanned the 1980s, Haring’s work was featured in over 100 solo and group exhibitions. Since his death, Haring has been the subject of several international retrospectives. The work of Keith Haring can be seen today in the exhibitions and collections of major museums around the world. 1. Kidrobot announces (RED) Collection | My Website

[…] Kidrobot has a new collection of items coming out, in collaboration with (RED) and the Keith Haring Studio, to mark World AIDS Day 2013. The (RED) Collection merchandise will have 5 percent of its sales go toward fighting AIDS in Africa and around the world … which honestly seems a little bit on the low end, but maybe that’s just me. Maybe it’ll be a bit clearer when we know what the prices for these items are, something that hasn’t been revealed yet. […]
