Korean artist, Ji Yong Ho works out of his live-in studio through his artist residency with Gana Art Gallery in Chelsea, NYC. He sculpts wondrous works of art using up-cycled tires. The rubber symbolizes mutation and nature. Yong Ho prefers the flexibility of tires over other mediums because the similarities to skin and muscles is unmatched. He feels that we are losing the ability to see animals in their natural state and Ji obsesses over the details to express his subjects in a natural beauty. With prices fetching far in to six figures at a recent auction, Ji Yong Ho is a force to reckon with in today’s art market.
