Kidrobot is proud to continue our partnership with The Met Museum, which first kicked off in 2020 with a Dunny collection for the 150th anniversary of the museum’s founding. This newest limited-edition line will celebrate highlights from the Museum’s collection and pay tribute to art lovers around the globe. This limited-edition 20-inch Dunny presents a new take on The Great Wave by Katsushika Hokusai (Japanese, 1760–1849). The artful figure shows details from Hokusai’s famous woodblock print (ca. 1830–32), from his series of Edo-period prints in The Met collection.
In collaboration with The Andy Warhol Foundation, Kidrobot is issuing just TWENTY carefully crafted 20-inch Dunny sculptures in honor of the artist behind so many of the most recognizable pieces of modern art. This sculpture is based on a famous 1965 photograph of Warhol in sunglasses and a striped shirt.
We’ve made just TEN carefully crafted 20-inch Dunny sculptures in honor of the iconic artist’s “Giant Size $ 1.57 Each” artwork. Warhol originally made the piece in black and white for the cover of a 1963 album of interviews with himself and several fellow artists, but he revisited the art in 1971 in the form of four colored, hand-printed versions limited to 75 prints each. This 20-inch Dunny was inspired by the red version.
